Volkswagen Golf Key Fob Battery (Mk4–Mk8)
Golf fobs usually take CR2032; Mk7 lists sometimes disagree. Read the stamp on your shell before you buy.
CR2032 and CR2025 sizes, how to open a VW key fob, and what to try when a new cell does not work.
Models sorts the coin question by Volkswagen and by generation. Golf Mk7, the Tiguan Mk2, and the Polo AW are the nameplates where CR2032 and CR2025 lists disagree, so those pages refuse to pick a winner. The US Passat is the NMS car, not the European B8. The Taos is not a T-Cross, and the Atlas is not a Tiguan. The ID.4 fob is a CR2032 and is not rechargeable, and its backup spot is often the console rather than the column. The 2023 Amarok shares a cab with the Ranger, so the first truck’s coin is not assumed. A GTI badge does not change the Golf coin of that year. Right-hand drive and a GTE badge do not either. The stamp on the old cell wins.
